That ‘Castlevania’ series from Netflix looks LEGIT

This July, Netflix will wade into the crowded world of video game-to-some-other-screen adaptations with an animated series based on the NES classic, Castlevania. After watching this first-look trailer, just one word springs to mind: hype. The anime-inflected take on Simon Belmont’s forever war against Dracula and his army of minions strikes the right tone in this minute-long teaser. Maybe it’s just the thrill of seeing a lo-fi Netflix app running on NES talking, but there’s a lot to be excited about here. Castlevania comes to Netflix on July 7.
