Smartphone prices are about to get insane

For about the last decade, if you walked into any phone store, you could reasonably expect to pay about $200 for a brand new iPhone — but those days are all but over.  The iPhone 8, which is expected to launch at a special media event on Sept. 12, is widely forecast to have a starting cost somewhere between $1,000 and $1,200 — or a little shy of double the starting price of the current iPhone 7 ($649). Watch the weird new trailer for Oculus’ first full-length VR movie

Virtual reality company Oculus on Thursday released a trippy trailer for its first full-length film, and you won’t want to miss it.  SEE ALSO: This is how Mark Zuckerberg’s Oculus VR gloves actually work The film, called Miyubi, takes the viewer through a series of strange events as you follow the life of a 1982 suburban family in America. And you’re not just watching the movie passively. Oculus financed the movie and worked with production studios Felix and Paul Studios and Funny or Die, who set it up so that viewers are a part of the action. Your character isn’t another human watching from the outside either — you’re a Japanese toy robot from the ’80s named Miyubi. Lady Gaga pens touching note for her late best friend

Sonja Durham passed away from stage IV cancer this past weekend, and if you do not know who she was directly, Lady Gaga can fill you in. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ will include a new Celine Dion song, as if we weren’t already excited enough

Celine Dion’s heart and voice will go on — the singer announced Thursday that she would perform a brand-new original song for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. “Being a part of the original film was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again,” Dion shared on her Facebook page.
