Facebook to Meet With LGBT Community Over ‘Real Names’ Policy

Facebook has agreed to meet with San Francisco city officials and activists following criticism that its naming policy discriminates against the LGBT community. The social network’s policy, which requires users use their legal name on profiles, is not new — but has recently come under new scrutiny after a number of transgender people and drag performers reported being locked out of their Facebook accounts.
