Internet Archive Now Lets You Play Vintage Console Games

Internet Archive has opened the Console Living Room, a collection of vintage console games from the 1970ies and 1980ies The site currently lists games from five systems: Atari 2600, Atari 7800 ProSystem, ColecoVision, Magnavox Odyssey and Astrocade. Though the collection is not complete, hundreds of games are available, including classics such as Asteroids, Donkey Kong, Frogger and Dig Dug. Teens’ Bonds with Parents Affect Their Sleep

Sleeping habits change when kids enter their teen years in part because of changing hormone levels. But a recent study suggests that social ties, such as relationships with friends and parents, may play a bigger role than biology in influencing teen sleep. Researchers analyzed information from nearly 1,000 adolescents, following them from age 12 to 15. The teens answered questions about all aspects of their lives, including their sleep habits, relationships with parents and friends, and involvement in school. New Apple Patent Could Open Apps Without Touching the Screen

Apple acquired two new patents on Tuesday — one that patents a “touch and hover” display, similar to the technology found in Samsung products like the Galaxy Note 2, and one that patents a heart rate monitor to read your EKG data. The hover display would let you interact with your Apple device without actually touching the screen. Just hold your finger or stylus over a desired app, and the app will open as though you had pressed down on the screen, according to Apple Insider. But developers can engineer the interface to read your intentions by sensing how long you’re hovering over a certain spot and how far away your finger is from the screen.
